  • Mr. Dowling has represented personal injury clients through most of his career, including vehicular collisions, products liability, trip/slip and falls, premises liability, wrongful death, boating accidents and admiralty, railroad collisions, sovereign immunity cases, worker's compensation, infliction of emotional distress, professional negligence, strict liability, breach of warranty, dog attacks, punitive damages; defamation, libel and slander.

CRIMINAL LAW:

  • Criminal defense practice as private lawyer and former Chief Capital Trial Lawyer, Office of the Public Defender, Palm Beach County. Served as first-chair defense counsel in nine first degree murder jury trials. Comparable responsibility in cases ranging from traffic violations to gamut of misdemeanor and felony cases such as trafficking, counterfeiting, assault and battery, sexual assault, forcible rape, burglary, armed robbery, habeas corpus and post-conviction remedies. In 1981, Mr. Dowling received the Certificate of Criminal Trial Advocacy as a diplomate of the National Board of Trial Advocacy.

FAMILY LAW:

  • Family Law practice involving dissolution of marriage, annulment, alimony, child support, custody, visitation, paternity, adoption, domestic violence, mental health juvenile delinquency and dependency, juvenile justice, equitable distribution- QDROs' valuations and current practice issues under F.S. 61 and case law.
